Everything audio in one place
You’ve probably noticed; audio has exploded. Along with listening to CDs and radio, we can now download audio, stream audio across networks, broadcast audio across WiFi, store audio on memory sticks and, with iPod devices, drop audio into our pockets. And if that wasn’t enough, vinyl is definitely back on the menu. So imagine everything audio in one place: CD player, multi-format tuner (DAB/FM/Internet radio), digital stream player, iPod / MP3 & USB memory stick player, digital to analogue converter and integrated amplifier. And now combine all that with legendary Naim musical quality, engineering integrity, design sophistication and interface know-how. Congratulations! You’ve just come up with the NaimUniti.
Just add speakers
The NaimUniti combines a CD player based on the award wining CD5i, a ten-input, 50-Watt-per channel integrated amplifier based on the similarly acclaimed NAIT 5i, and a digital-to-analogue converter with an output filter derived from that developed for the stunning CD5 XS. To all that, NaimUniti adds a high quality multi-format tuner that can switch seamlessly between DAB, FM and Internet radio stations, the ability to play audio files at resolutions up to 24bit/96kHz streamed from UPnP™ music servers like the Naim HDX hard disk music player, or from PC or Mac music libraries, and separate interface inputs for iPod devices, MP3 players and USB memory sticks carrying audio files of up to 24bit/96kHz resolution. NaimUniti has every base covered; you just need a pair of speakers.
The centre of your analogue and digital world
NaimUniti has an analogue heart. Its NAIT 5i-derived integrated amplifier beats true to our long established design philosophies and is the foundation of the NaimUniti’s audio quality. But in parallel with audio quality, it is NaimUniti’s immense digital versatility that sets it apart from any other all-in-one audio product. Its comprehensive coverage of audio bases includes audio formats as well as audio sources. So along with Red Book CD audio, FM and DAB radio, and Internet radio streams at multiple bit rates, NaimUniti can play audio files in MP3, Windows Media–formatted content, AAC, Apple Lossless (from your iPod), FLAC and WAV
formats. And thanks to NaimUniti’s internal DAC with its five 24bit/192kHz-capable S/PDIF inputs, external digital audio sources, such as satellite TVs or games consoles, are a breeze too. Analogue audio connectivity is not forgotten either. Five analogue inputs can accommodate CD players or portable music players via rear panel phono sockets, a DIN phono input and a front-panel mini-jack. And a preamplifier output means that with the addition of an external power amplifier, or even a subwoofer, NaimUniti can become the heart of a very wide bandwidth audio system. And when you want to listen privately, a front panel headphone socket makes such selfishness all too easy. So as well as offering all-in-one functionality, NaimUniti is the perfect audio hub.
More music than ever at your fingertips
Versatility is however little use without accessibility. NaimUniti’s coherent and intuitive user interface makes using and navigating around each of its audio sources child’s play. NaimUniti finds DAB or Internet radio stations without prompting; it connects to networks and discovers UPnP™ server shared audio files automatically, and it presents everything via a large front panel display that’s the model of clarity. Every CD track, audio file, stream or source is literally just a couple of button presses away. NaimUniti works seamlessly with iPod devices. Simply connect an iPod to the interface socket, using Naim’s specially-designed iPod cable: the n-Link, and NaimUniti both takes over iPod control and displays iPod contents. It charges the iPod battery too. A soon-to-be-launched iPhone/iPod Touch control App will enhance the NaimUniti experience still further.
Enjoy Connected Hi-Fi
Install a NaimUniti in your home and a whole world of multi-room audio opportunities opens up. With a UPnP™ server, such as the Naim HDX, a wireless network router and a NaimUniti you have a very high performance hi-fi system with access to almost limitless music. Add a second, or even a third NaimUniti and you have a multi-room hi-fi system that installs effortlessly, is easily modified and sounds outstanding.
